a palpable dread creeps over me
do i dare to raise my eyes
should i open my ears and
come back to this miserable plane
at least in my world, things constantly change
I can learn not to feel or unlearn the same
sanity's complex of pain
never really satisfied i resist
and make a fist
fighting with the unknown
not letting them in my soul
and live each day with them all taking toll
I can believe and disbelieve
a feeling that bereaves even me
redundant explanation
to something unexplained
and something that happens everyday
I am only in dreams
when reality bursts and rips apart at the seams
